What are the endpoint requirements for Hive Streaming?

Hive Streaming supports three types of endpoints:

• Endpoints that run a full Hive Client will support all usage scenarios, including efficient video distribution, collection of viewing statistics and full support of Hive Tools - such as Silent Testing.  A Hive Client installation is required for these endpoints.
• Endpoints running a WebRTC-compliant browser will support the efficient video distribution with other WebRTC-compliant browsers participating in the event.  And also collection of viewing statistics.  No software installation is necessary for these endpoints.*
• All other endpoints will only collect viewing statistics *

The Hive Client may be installed on:

• Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit)
• Mac OS X 10.7+ (OS X Lion+)

Hive WebRTC is our advanced WebRTC-based distribution product.  It is supported on browsers implementing the full WebRTC stack:

For all other browsers and platforms, Hive Streaming can automatically collect viewing statistics without requiring any additional installation, including:

• Edge (Windows 10)
• Internet Explorer 9-11 (Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10)
• Chrome 37+ (Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Mac OS X Yosemite)
• Firefox 42+ (Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Mac OS X Yosemite)
• Firefox 35-41 (Windows 10, Windows 8.1)
• Safari 8+ (OS X Yosemite+)
• Safari 6 (OS X Mountain Lion)

Also:

• Safari (iOS 6+)
• Chrome (Android 4.4+)
• Firefox 42+ (Android 5.0+)
• IE11 (Windows Phone 8.1)
