Hive Streaming’s pricing is based on a total number of views.

Understanding View-Based Licensing (VBL)

A View-Based License (VBL) is activated when a Hive enabled video is viewed beginning with the first second. The video session can be paused for up to 30 minutes, after which a new VBL will be activated. If the user switches devices while viewing a video, a new VBL is activated.

Customers purchase an annual bucket of VBLs. As VBLs are activated, they will be deducted from the bucket. If a bucket is fully used, an automatic overage charge will be applicable and additional VBLs will be priced at 150% of the contracted price. Customers who have fully used their buckets have the right to re-enter a new 12-month contract.

The minimum contract Service Term commitment is 12 months, and Hive Streaming bills for its services on an annual basis with payment due at the beginning of each annual period.

The base price per view is based on statistics gathering (Hive Analytics). Customers may then layer additional features (at an additional cost), including:

Here is a general overview of our pricing structure. For the latest and most specific pricing details, please reach out to your Account Executive, or Customer Success Manager.

What is the cost of our products and services?

Pricing varies based on the products and/or services selected.

Our products are typically offered on a per-seat, per-month basis under an annual contract.

Additional services, such as Event Monitoring Support and Managed Silent Testing, are available either as yearly packages or tailored solutions.

For information on acquiring our eCDN solutions or other offerings, please consult your technical specialist or customer success account manager.

How many licenses are required, and is it necessary to assign them to specific users?

Our products are designed to be fully functional immediately, without assigning specific licenses to users.

You need to purchase enough licenses to cover all users who will benefit from the service. Typically, this includes all users within an organization. The service is activated across the entire video platform by default. We monitor usage to ensure compliance but do not automatically limit service or performance unless necessary. If excessive usage is identified, you will be advised to verify that your license count is adequate.

Info

While assigning licenses is not required, customers must ensure that they have purchased an adequate number of licenses to accommodate their intended usage.
