Hive Plugin is Hive Streaming‘s advanced browser-based video distribution technology.

Hive Agent

The Hive Agent, an optional installed software, enables more advanced use cases, including Fast features such as fast peer discovery, Persistent persistent logs, Hive Silent Testing, custom network configurations and support for non-WebRTC compliant browsers.  

  • Deployable by an IT department via Compatible to be deployed via a standard software deployment tools like SCCM or Intune

  • Runs unobtrusively in the background, consuming only minimum CPU resources

  • Unified Peering, Enhance the Hive Plugin solution by adding methods that are not available while using a webapp only, like faster peer discovery process and log persistence.

  • With Silent Testing, simulate live video events without requiring user involvement, detecting problems before they occur

  • Support for The Hive Agent uses WebRTC as transportation protocol making it compatible to work together with the Hive Plugin giving the customer the possibility to work with a mix deployment but keeping peering unified.

  • Can however support non-WebRTC compliant browsers and networks (Note: in this use case the installation is NOT optional)Requirement: Installed Hive Agent, it does not work with the Hive Plugin)

  • Resolving mDNS addresses into IPv4 to always enabling site matching and peering between subnets
