All HIVE Cloud services are hosted in Microsoft Azure and do not host or have access to customer video. HIVE Cloud Services respond only to secure HTTPS requests.
HIVE video platform partners must use authenticate with a unique security token to connect to HIVE Cloud Services. HIVE-supported endpoints (both HIVE WebRTC and HIVE Agent-based) must present a valid HIVE Ticket or Client Certificate to connect to a HIVE Cloud Service.

The HIVE Knowledge Base (HKB) and Partner Portal are hosted separately on the Atlassian Confluence Cloud platform. Customer . HIVE uses Jira Software Cloud for customer issue management. Separate customer and partner logins are approved after review.
Installable, endpoint-based software
The Hive Agent can be deployed and managed using standard software distribution methods. The unobtrusive software is installed on end-user devices and acts as a transparent HTTP proxy between the streaming server and the Webcast platform.
As simultaneous participants join the meeting the Hive Agent creates a dynamic software defined network. Media streams are then shared between users on the network, instead of being requested from the Internet. This process is seamless to the viewing audience and completely managed by Hive Streaming’s video distribution algorithm.
It is not uncommon for network administrators to see bandwidth savings of 95-99% on live broadcasts. HIVE Agent is HIVE’s most mature and robust distribution technology. In addition to high performance video distribution for enterprise networks, the HIVE Agent also supports advanced features such as Silent Testing and site-specific configurations.
The HIVE Agent acts as a proxy between the video platform partner’s web-based player and the video content hosted on a Content Delivery Network. No user interaction is required. In fact, users are not typically aware the HIVE Agent is even present.
The HIVE Agent consists of three components:
Hive Streaming Service - contains all core logic, runs unattended in the background
Watchdog process - manages the Hive Streaming Service
HIVE Desktop Helper (HDH) - facilitates connection to the local certificate store (Windows only)
The HIVE Agent is provided as a downloadable installation package. An MSI file is provided for Windows, a PKG file for macOS. The Agent can be deployed and managed using standard software distribution methods, including Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
